Buxton Records bring 2018 to a close with a two-track release from Brisbane-based Chris George. A mainstay of the Buxton family, Chris returns with his second release on the imprint, after the “Love vs Pain” EP in 2015. Since then, Chris has forged a reputation as prolific as both a producer and DJ; a purveyor of rich, emotive journeys and lush soundscapes. The “Gotas De Agua” EP is a testament to this — inviting the listener on a deep dive. Despite holding onto this EP for a few years now, this offering of warm, enveloping house sounds more current than ever; suited for sunny afternoon listening, through to an intimate club setting.

Not unlike its name, Deep Water Exploration is a sonic observation of just that. It conveys a deepness through its warm keys and a curiosity with the arpeggios which flutter throughout. The listener is taken on a journey of the depths of the ocean as if gliding through cool, crystal clear water. In Floating Over To You, we resurface. Sunny chords sail alongside a punchy, Kerri Chandler-esque kick, and sustains its pace throughout until closure.
